Travel between London and Avignon by train

Avignon is a city in south-eastern France bordered by the left bank of the Rhône River. Being the capital of Christendom in the Middle Ages, Avignon boasts its grand destiny with its palace of the popes, the Pont d’Avignon bridge of worldwide fame and its impressive ramparts. Try travelling by train from London to Avignon : the journey will take you nearly 6h30. Called TGV, the French high-speed trains are, without a doubt, the fastest way to travel between major cities. The TGV BAR and its shop can be found on coaches 4 and 14, where you can buy good meals and drinks. If you choose to take the train from St. Pancras station, you will have to take a TGV and an Eurostar train in order to arrive to Avignon TGV station. Thanks to the Intercite trains network, you can also take the Intercite de nuit operating by night to save you money on a night's stay.
